S.Z.: Textiles are a language in and of themselves, they speak to place, time, and human existence. While we are systematic as humans, a lot of these patterns and visual languages get overlooked over time. I think it’s important to think about how the expression of textile making speaks to tradition, but also to what is contemporary. It is a largely un- changed means of creating, but because of the infinite possibilities, the process continues to be prescient.
